“The New Microsoft Windows Deployment Services: What it can do for You”
August 27, 2008
Scott Bishop
With the introduction of the New Microsoft Server 2008 product line, several exciting additions and upgrades have many IT professionals re-envisioning their Enterprise Operations. One such technology is Microsoft's Windows Deployment Services (WDS). To label this product as an improved version of Remote Installation Services (RIS) is a dis-service to WDS. WDS integration into your existing environment is relatively simple, and will quickly become your storehouse of easily deployed custom computer images. Capturing images to deploy later is just as simple. And with other great additions, including Multicast support, installation logging, enhanced TFTP, and much smaller space requirements for our images, WDS will quickly become the native technology to manage Enterprise OS deployment.

harePoint is capable of handling many different business workloads. A classic example is of course a web site built on SharePoint. While this is great use of SharePoint, consider that an organization typically only has one web site, albeit with many users of course. Consider however the business workload of project and program management, where organizations have hundreds, or in some cases thousands, of projects, involving both internal and external parties. Consider also that today many of these projects are run on email, Microsoft Excel and shared network drives. Collaborative project and program management is a business workload very suited to SharePoint.

“Enabling A Mobile Workforce with Microsoft Exchange 2007”
November 15, 2007
Mark Weinstein Microsoft’s release of Exchange Server 2007 and Service Pack I has driven change in the messaging marketplace, especially for the mobile workforce. The software improves e-mail searches on mobile devices, will allow a Remote user to wipe all Exchange Server-fed data from a device if it is lost or stolen, and will allow mobile device users to reply to meeting requests in a variety of ways. With Exchange 2003, when users receive a meeting request from Exchange Server on a mobile device, they can only reply by accepting or declining the invitation. With Exchange Server 2007, a user will be able to do either of those things and send an e-mail reply to the sender or forward the message. Now Service Pack 1 is about to be released and there are more updates. Join Mark Weinstein for one hour on Enabling a Mobile Workforce with Microsoft Exchange 2007 and improve your company’s communication in the field.
