LAN/WAN technologies, switch/router setup and configuration, and IT security solutions with extensive TCP/IP implementation labs.
During this class, you will get the opportunity to:
- Discover monitoring tools: analyze LAN protocol traffic & learn essential troubleshooting skills
- Gain hands-on experience with setup of a state-of-the-art router
- Connect switches to routers & monitor network traffic to ensure proper connectivity
- Demystify VLANs - use them to improve your network’s performance, security and reliability
- Learn how to install and configure DCHP and DNS
- Secure wireless access points and configure wireless nodes for proper connectivity
- Work hands-on in a real-world network environment with switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access points, LAN analyzers, and DHCP and DNS servers
- Deploy and configure VLANs, layer 3 switches, and wireless access points
- Acquire the essential security skills necessary for today's networking professional
- Perform IP address subnetting and subnet masking and use variable-length subnet masks
- Conduct static and dynamic routing, configure default routes and enable RIP routing

- Lab 6: Setup of various IP subnets and subnet masks
- Lab 7: Restoration from disconnect and ARP entry removal
- Lab 8: Examining and verifying ARP caches on a route
- Lab 9: IP routing tables and configuring routes
- Lab10: Dynamic routing protocol
- Lab11: Configuring VLANs and managing virtual routers
- Lab12: Dynamic MAC-based VLAN membership
- Lab13: Configuring a Microsoft DHCP server
- Lab14: Configure a Microsoft DNS server
- Lab15: Installing soft firewalls
- Lab16: Level 3 access lists on routers
- Lab17: Using/verifying level 4 access lists on firewalls
- Lab18: Secure wireless connectivity for laptops
